For Kate's first birthday, we celebrated with the family with a "katybug" cake. We also made a bunch of cupcakes for everyone else in the event that Kate destroyed the cake...as you can see, she did.

It didn't take her long to dive right in!

The whole family...well, minus Brad who was taking the picture and Sydney who was being stubborn...as usual.

Then on her REAL birthday, we celebrated with strawberries, cream and waffles...YUM!

And one of those important life lessons...fire is HOT!

Kate is such a sweet little girl! I'll admit, the first couple months of her life were pretty rough. She was a pretty fussy baby for awhile, but she's MORE than made up for it! She's happy and smiley and silly. She's trying really hard to walk, but prefers to crawl and she's really good at it. From the back she looks like one of those mechanical crawling dolls. She jabbers a lot and I often have to take her out of church for being too loud...even though she's not crying. She refuses to eat baby food, but loves to eat just about everything else. She was pretty scrawny for a few months, but now is a chubby, happy little thing. Her hair has always been out of this world crazy. To this day, she does not disappoint. Why just today, I took her to the dr. and I thought her hair was pretty tame, yet I still got 3 comments from the dr's staff about how her hair will calm down as she grows up...and they'd say things to her like "I LIKE your hair...don't let anybody change it!" Little did they know that this was a GOOD day! :) Kate loves to kiss me, but only me so far. We're working to add daddy to the list. Jackson ADORES Kate and Sydney has her moments. I'm sure they will be the best of friends in a few years. We love our little Kate and are so grateful to have her in our family!
