Chili Cook-Off

Our ward chili cook-off is in a few weeks. Last year I tried a new recipe the day of and it didn't turn out. I still took it because I figured if it was a ward thing, some other not-so-great recipes would be there too. I was right, but I don't want to be part of that group this time. Anyone have a fabulous chili recipe they'd like to share? I found an excellent rated one on All-recipes...but I'd rather get one from someone whose taste I know!

Ok...so your blog was making me crave chili...so i'm making it tonight. I'm just making a turkey chili, it's on the sweeter side (so some people don't like it....like Dustin....but I like it...and I figure if I'm the one making it, I'll make what I like, right?) Anyway....I technically started weight watchers this morning, so I need to figure out the points for the chili, and then not eat the whole batch. If we lived in the bay area together, I would bring 1/2 over to you...so I wouldn't eat it all.

This one is really easy and tastes great too.

2 cans pork n beans
2 cans stewed tomatoes
1 can tomato soup
1 lb cooked hamburger
1 chili seasoning pkg

Put in croc pot for 4-6 hours or all day. You can add really anything to this recipe; veggies, beans, etc.

This one is "Taco Soup" if you ask me, it's just another chili...

1 lb ground beef
1 med onion
1 pkg mild taco seasoning
1 16oz can corn, drained
1 16oz can kidney beans, drained
1 28oz can stewed tomatoes
1 8oz can tomato sauce

Cook beef and onion together, add corn, and beans, mix. Add taco seasoning, stewed tomatoes and tomato sauce and mix. Simmer for avout 10 minutes on medium to low heat. Garnish with grated cheese, sour cream, and chips.

Good Luck!
